Veterinary Practice Manager Chicago Area
Thrive Pet Healthcare Chicago IL (Floating Position)
Thrive Pet Healthcare is seeking anInterim Practice Manager (Opportunity to Transition into Full-Time Role) to support our network of veterinary hospitals throughout the Chicago metro area. This is a short-term placement role designed to provide on-site leadership and operational support to individual hospitals one location at a time.
This position offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure across our hospital network while making a meaningful impact at the local level. Based on performance and organizational needs there is potential for this role to transition into a full-time permanent Practice Manager position within Thrive Pet Healthcare.
About the Role
As a Floating Practice Manager you will step in to lead hospital operations support team development and uphold our commitment to high-quality patient care and exceptional client service. Youll be embedded within one hospital at a timehelping to stabilize guide and grow the team during periods of transition or leadership gaps.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site leadership and management for assigned hospitals in the Chicago area
  • Oversee daily operations including staffing scheduling inventory and client service
  • Support and coach hospital teams to uphold Thrive values and drive performance
  • Collaborate with medical leaders to ensure top-tier veterinary care and compliance
  • Contribute to financial management including budget tracking and KPI monitoring
  • Implement operational improvements and ensure adherence to hospital policies
Qualifications
  • 3 years of veterinary hospital management or supervisory experience required
  • Previous experience in emergency or specialty veterinary settings is a plus
  • Bachelors degree in business or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • CVPM certification encouraged
  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills
  • Comfortable adapting to different teams and workflows
  • Willingness and ability to travel to various hospital locations across Chicago
