A Mobile Library Officerto manage Clayton Green Mobile Library. This is a permanent role and you will work an average of 37 hours per week.
Lancashire MobileLibraries are a vital service that provides a library service to residents who may not have easy access to our static public libraries. They ensure that people of all ages can access a wide range of books resources and reliable information. This fosters community engagement and promotes literacy making library services more inclusive and accessible to everyone regardless of their location.
Lancashire libraries aim to provide access for everyone to quality resources knowledgeable and customer-focused staff and a welcoming library space.
Your new role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individualwho is customer focussed and digitally savvy with the skills to drive and manage a large vehicle. Our ideal person will be welcoming and friendlyhave a love for reading and be passionate about sharing this. You will have excellent communication and problem-solving skillswith the confidence tobe able to work with a range of partners and volunteers.
You will operate a mobile library offering a high-quality library and information service and you will manage the planning and delivery of a diverse range of events and activities monitoring performance and stock as you go. You will support and encourage customers to access information and resources for example accessing free eBooks and newspaper apps or helping someone find reliable information such as applying for a bus pass.
