HOW YOULL MAKE AN IMPACT
Your Role:
- The Medical Assistant is responsible for performing the delegated nursing functions under the direction of the department leader and clinical nurses.
- This position is responsible for assisting with direct patient care and clerical duties that are an essential function in the coordination of optimal patient care including but not limited to scheduling patients patient hygiene/toileting mobility assistance interdepartmental transportation vital signs charting ordering supplies cleaning and stocking patient areas chart audits and interaction with all areas of the department .
Reports:
- RN/Nurse Manager or Office Manager
Supervises:
WHAT YOULL NEED TO APPLY
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g. certificate of high school equivalency) and
- successful completion of a medical assisting program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Required Experience:
Preferred Experience:
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant externship and
- two (2) or more years of job-related experience preferred.
Required Certification/License/Registry:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential from American Medical Technologists (AMT).
Preferred Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA)
