About Organization
IP & Transport Eng. & Ops Department is primarily responsible for planning designing constructing expanding and improving the long-distance mobile backhaul network that supports Rakuten Mobiles services.
The planning and design of the backhaul network involves a wide range of tasks including the formulation of basic plans such as network configuration cost schedule and effectiveness analysis and organization obtaining budget and project approvals network configuration simulation equipment configuration design equipment procurement various arrangements and adjustments for IP & WDM network construction and coordination with various vendors and internal departments. We are capable of handling tasks from upstream processes such as planning and designing new networks to downstream processes such as adjusting the configuration design and construction of actual networks.
Within the IPTX Planning Section the Longhaul Optics Group is primarily responsible for planning designing and arranging and coordinating the construction of optical transmission networks for inter-prefectural transmission as well as coordinating with various vendors and internal departments involved in these activities. The Longhaul Optics Group is responsible for designing long-distance networks that connect prefectures.
Job Duties
Planning
- Formulation and establishment of basic plans for mobile backhaul networks (routes necessary paths costs schedules effects).
- Budget compilation and approval acquisition.
- Negotiating and contracting with other carriers equipment vendors telecommunications construction companies etc. Arranging and ordering necessary equipment.
- Managing costs schedules and resources.
Design
- Simulating the reachability of WDM paths.
- Designing network configuration equipment configuration wiring and equipment settings; creating drawings and instructions.
- Providing instructions for construction and reflecting feedback from construction in drawings.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and experience in planning and design of networks.
Knowledge and experience negotiating with and managing carriers vendors and telecommunications contractors.
Knowledge and experience in project management and promotion.
Knowledge of and experience in designing or constructing network equipment and transmission networks.
Knowledge and experience in preparing drawings (design drawings construction drawings) and the experience of instructions for transmission networks and network equipment installation and configuration.
Can proactively carry out work.
Has problem-solving skills and can work independently with high motivation.
Can communicate with members from various fields and build and maintain good relationships of trust.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in planning and designing transmission networks.
Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing WDM equipment.
Experience in promoting design efficiency and automation.
Transmission exchange chief engineer certification holders are welcome.
