Facilities Maintenance Technician Homewood

Job Summary

Performs Maintenance duties including trash removal snow removal (by hand shoveling and with machine operation assistance) performs routine maintenance services light janitorial maintenance general cleanliness and upkeep of interior and exterior of all three property buildings (HMR WSC HHDM & TI) and off-site employee housing.

Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following but not limited to:

• Assists in all maintenance of building facilities; including but not limited to routine maintenance services snow removal light janitorial services carpentry plumbing and other various tasks as assigned.

• Assists in painting and performing minor repairs to masonry woodwork and furnishings of buildings.

• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists in solving work problems.

• Maintain and repair portable toilets.

• Empties wastebaskets and transports trash and waste to disposal area.

• Assists in transportation of small equipment or tools between departments.

• Communicates concerning needs for major repairs or additions to lighting heating and ventilating equipment to Building Maintenance management.

• Snow removal as required using safe snow shoveling and ice abatement techniques.

• Also using ice chippers and Honda snowblowers. This includes possessing the ability or learning the safe and efficient operations of our Cat Skid Steer snow blower

• Have excellent communication analytical and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and courtesy.

• Must be a self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision.

• skiing or snowboarding ability desirable

• Must be 18 years of age or older.

• Experience driving over-the-snow vehicles such as snowmobiles is highly desirable.

• Personal tools for work required.

Language Skills:

• Literate and fluent in English.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers clients and other employees of the organization.

• Additional language(s) desirable.

Preferred:

Mathematical Skills:

• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra geometry and trigonometry.

• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions percentages ratios proportions area circumference and volume to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in oral mathematical or diagram form.

• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

• Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Certifications and Levels:

• Valid Class C Driver License with a driving record meeting the minimum standards required by Homewoods insurance carrier desirable.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Prior ski resort or hospitality experience desirable.
