Job Summary

ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVE:The Maintenance Technician is an energetic and flexible employee responsible for the general maintenance and repair of Collaborative buildings building systems and grounds through resourcefulness and sound judgment consistent with the rules and regulations of the Central Massachusetts Collaborative. The Maintenance Technician will perform general maintenance and repairs for the facilities including plumbing electrical basic carpentry and will assure the proper functioning of heating and cooling and other building include but are not limited to:Facilities and Grounds Maintenance1. Examines school buildings (2) and grounds on a regular basis for safety security needed repairs and maintenance and troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs. Reports any condition of the facilities that is not safe or functioning as designed to his or her supervisor. 2. Assist with the coordination of inspections for all playgrounds kitchen equipment elevator systems and life safety equipment and systems and troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs.3. Routinely inspects all mechanical electrical HVAC and plumbing systems including building rooftop units and performs routine maintenance of same.4. Maintain compliance with OSHA ADA and fire code regulations. Keep records of inspections permits and maintenance logs.5. Assists with the development and implementation of equipment and systems preventative maintenance programs and plans to insure the safe operation of all Collaborative buildings. 6. Assists with the development and implementation of a painting and maintenance schedule to insure the protection preservation and aesthetic nature of all Collaborative buildings.7. Responsible for managing and maintaining the Collaboratives work request / order system and maintaining records of all maintenance and repair work performed.8. Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities. Arrange furniture and equipment for meetings classes and special events. Deliver and move materials or furniture between locations as needed.9. Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall painting and repairing doors and other building fixtures.10. Supports procurement activities as required for maintenance and ground operations including services parts and supplies. 11. Assists with preparation of specifications for work to be performed by outside vendors; secures product and/or services adhering to applicable procurement laws and process; coordinates and supervises the activities of outside vendors. 12. Engage with stakeholders and external partners to design and manage short and long-term projects.13. Maintains compliance with all applicable state and federal procurement laws and regulations while ensuring the Collaborative is receiving competitive pricing on procured services and materials. 14. Maintains an inventory of maintenance and grounds supplies and equipment so that needed replacements can be ordered in an efficient and timely manner.15. Maintains a list of all maintenance and grounds contracts (i.e. trash removal) with expiration dates. Initiates renewal of contracts prior to expiration.16. Coordinates snow removal services and clear snow ice and debris from walkways entrances and driveways.17. Assists with management and maintenance of the Collaboratives fleet of vehicles including gas maintenance and inspections.18. Responsible for establishing and maintaining regular communication with the Director of Finance and Operations to ensure issues are highlighted on a timely basis and work priorities/plans are developed and reviewed.19. Assist with emergency preparedness drills (fire lockdown etc.)20. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Director of Finance and Operations.
