Lab Process Manager

GM Pontiac Engineering Center

Position Overview

Lead the operation and maintenance of all Lab Process Support equipment systems and processes at GMs Pontiac Engineering Center. Drive high-level service delivery through effective team leadership and technical expertise. Reports to Site Manager.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Skills

• 4 years industry experience in facility operations or engineering environment
• Strong written/verbal communication and Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
• Proven supervisory experience with ability to lead cross-functional teams
• Personnel management experience including performance objectives and scheduling

Technical Expertise

• Building Management Systems and HVAC knowledge
• Preventative/predictive maintenance and gas detection systems
• Work order management systems (Corrigo Maximo)
• Environmental compliance and HAZMAT regulations
• OSHA safety standards and incident reporting

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates/bachelors degree or equivalent experience
• Automotive testing environment and hydrogen fuel cell systems experience
• ISO compliance BIQ-IV certification and Tridium BMS applications
• JLL/UAW Collective Bargaining Agreement knowledge

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership

• Direct: Maintenance Shift Supervisors Fuel Manager Controls Engineer
• Indirect: JLL UAW Trades and Fuels Assistant

System Management

• Test lab central systems (fueled/non-fueled hydrogen fuel cell racing R&D)
• E-Motor and gear test systems
• Bulk fluids compressed gases and vendor contract management

Operational Excellence

• Daily reporting environmental data collection and GM collaboration
• Work order management and support interruption processes
• Weekend/shutdown planning and cost-saving initiatives

Safety & Performance Metrics

• Maintain zero recordable injuries and 100% safety completion rates
• Ensure compliance training and KPI performance targets
• Support help desk operations and continuous improvement

Additional Requirements:On-call availability as needed
