Key Accountabilities
Work closely with the business units to develop and execute successful regulatory strategies on specific projects and issues; assist in reconciling competing business unit objectives when necessary.
Develop relationships with FERC and FERC-jurisdictional ISO staff; ascertain their perspectives on issues of interest and communicate company positions; form coalitions to more effectively influence regulatory outcomes.
Work with ISO Market Policy Directors and outside counsel to develop and execute ISO and FERC advocacy across all FERC-jurisdictional ISO markets.
Assist Vistra Strategy Legal and Investor Relations by providing regulatory information and insight for related issues.
Identify emerging issues that FERC and FERC-jurisdictional ISOs will pursue in the short medium and long term; share perspective with appropriate business unit representatives to develop and execute proactive strategies.
Observe Code of Conduct and other ethical obligations.
Education Experience & Skill Requirements
15 years prior work experience in electricity regulation advocacy legal and market analysis and/or policy development.
Demonstrated knowledge of jurisdictional and/or policy principles that underly the development of wholesale market policies.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
Key Metrics
Represent Vistra effectively and credibly in stakeholder forums and other processes to lead change consistent with Vistras vision.
Timely and accurately identify evaluate develop alternatives and communicate regarding FERC and FERC-jurisdictional markets policy proposals that may impact Vistras business strategy or operations.
Coordinate with other regulatory personnel and business units to ensure consistent messaging and execution.
