About the Role:
As the Utility Engineer II you will be responsible for conducting in-depth inspections and analysis of overhead electrical infrastructure to ensure the accuracy and reliability of utility asset this role you will identify potential hazards provide real-time data to utility companies and contribute to improving utility service reliability.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth inspections and catalog utility assets with high accuracy.
- Identify electrical equipment issues and potential hazards providing real-time data to utility companies.
- Assist in developing and maintaining utility asset datasets to support operational improvements.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment with industry standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support safe and efficient project execution.
- Stay updated on industry standards regulations and best practices to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical knowledge and skill development.
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in the electric utility field (preferred).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (must-have).
- Proficient computer skills with good written and oral communication abilities (must-have).
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) national engineering standards utility construction standards and best industry engineering practices (nice-to-have).
- Excellent organizational skills and the flexibility to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to work remotely and coordinate effectively with a distributed workforce.
- Enthusiasm for learning and applying new technologies within the utility sector.
Tools/Technical Environment:
- GIS software for utility asset mapping and analysis
- Data management tools for cataloging and reporting
- Communication platforms for collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders
- Industry-standard reference materials including NESC and engineering guidelines
