The Senior Process Engineer translates strategic objectives into actionable plans drives cost reduction enhances product quality and ensures alignment with safety and environmental standards.
Responsibilities - Drive and implement strategic objectives for the process and quality division.
- Analyse plant losses and lead cost-reduction initiatives.
- Develop and execute annual improvement plans aligned with operational goals.
- Manage and mentor direct reports fostering a high-performance culture.
- Promote a safe inclusive and innovative work environment.
- Ensure compliance with company safety health and environmental policies.
- Formulate and manage cost-effective raw material and packaging strategies.
- Maintain and improve product performance based on customer and market feedback.
- Ensure adherence to national quality standards (e.g. SANS 266).
- Oversee compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and support WCM initiatives.
- Sustain and improve LIMS systems and QMS outputs.
- Lead new product development in collaboration with marketing and sales teams.
- Ensure QMS integrity during change implementation.
- Promote a culture of customer focus and continuous improvement.
- Deliver on agreed quality and control plan targets.
Requirements - BEng or equivalent in Chemical Engineering (essential)
- Qualification in Quality Control/Management (advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years in a chemical/process/quality engineering role
- Prior experience in quality and project management
- Exposure to WCM Lean or Six Sigma methodologies (advantageous)
- Strong analytical problem-solving and planning skills
- Effective communicator with strong report writing and presentation ability
- Computer literate (Word Excel PowerPoint; Visio and Python advantageous)
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and detail
