Travel RN-First Surgical Assistant (Contract Role)

Location: Beverly MA 01915

Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day Shift (8) - 7:00 start

Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Weekly Pay Rate: $3520 - $3760; (Negotiable based on experience)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Deliver nursing care in accordance with hospital policies Massachusetts state regulations and ANA standards of practice.
Serve as a clinical role model adhering to practice standards and regulatory compliance (e.g. DPH Joint Commission OSHA AORN).
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and uphold the hospitals CREATE values.
Maintain professional courteous interactions with patients families and staff.
Assist colleagues in meeting departmental workflow and patient care needs.
Advocate for patient rights autonomy dignity and confidentiality.
Accurately document patient care and understand the legal implications of clinical charting.
Demonstrate sound judgment and prioritization in emergency or high-stress situations.
Participate in unit-level quality improvement and assurance initiatives.
Review and coordinate operative schedules to avoid RNFA conflicts and notify appropriate leadership.
Safely and effectively use surgical instruments during procedures.
Apply advanced techniques in tissue handling dissection and cutting tailored to each patients needs.
Select and manage retractors with consideration for anatomy and physiology to avoid injury.
Demonstrate proficiency in knot tying suturing and other first-assisting skills.

Licensure Certification & Registration:

Required:
- Current Massachusetts RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Completion of an RNFA program with a supervised clinical component
Preferred:
- CNOR Certification

Experience Requirements:

Minimum 2 3 years of recent experience as an Operating Room Nurse.
Demonstrated clinical competency as a RN First Assistant including:
- Surgical assisting techniques (e.g. hemostasis suturing retracting)
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Deep knowledge of surgical specialty services
- Passion for nursing and delivering high-quality patient care
