Controller (With healthcare multi entity & multi state exp)
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations for our fast-growing mobile wound care organization. This is a mission-critical role responsible for managing accounting functions ensuring compliance with healthcare billing regulations and providing financial insights that support growth and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring healthcare-specific expertise particularly in multi-state multi-payer environments and thrive in a high-growth purpose-driven company.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Oversight: Lead all accounting operations including general ledger AR/AP payroll and month-end close
Healthcare Compliance: Ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare-specific regulations including CMS billing and medical revenue cycle management
Reporting & Analysis: Prepare accurate monthly financial statements budget variance reports and cash flow forecasts
Audit & Controls: Maintain internal controls and coordinate external audits including payer audits and healthcare-specific reviews
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with clinical operations revenue cycle and credentialing teams to ensure accurate financial data and aligned goals
Process Improvement: Optimize financial processes accounting systems and workflows to support scale and efficiency
Team Leadership: Manage and develop accounting staff fostering a culture of accuracy accountability and continuous improvement
Qualifications
Required
Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or related field
5 years of progressive accounting experience with 2 years in healthcare or medical services
Strong understanding of healthcare billing revenue recognition and compliance standards (e.g. Medicare Medicaid commercial payers)
Proficiency in accounting systems and Excel; strong data integrity and analysis skills
Experience with multi-entity multi-state operations
Preferred
CPA or CMA designation
Prior experience in a mobile care home health or outpatient services organization
Familiarity with NetSuite QuickBooks or similar ERP/accounting platforms
