Controller Aerospace & Space Technology (GovCon)
Location: Fairfax VA Hybrid
Reports to: CFO

Why This Role Matters
As Controller youll lead the accounting function and play a critical role in financial strategy compliance and operational excellence. This is an opportunity to guide a high-growth GovCon organization through complex government contracting requirements while supporting projects that matter on a national scale.
What Youll Do
Oversee all accounting operations including GL AP AR payroll and cost accounting
Manage month-end and year-end close processes and ensure timely accurate financial reporting
Ensure GAAP compliance and proper revenue recognition for government contracts (T&M CPFF FFP)
Maintain and monitor indirect cost rates; oversee Incurred Cost Submissions and DCAA compliance
Lead audit preparation tax filings and internal controls
Partner with leadership on budgeting forecasting and cash flow management
Drive ERP optimization and process improvements across finance operations
Mentor and develop accounting team members
What You Bring
Bachelors in Accounting or Finance (CPA strongly preferred)
10 years of progressive accounting experience including at least 3 years in a leadership role
Deep knowledge of GAAP FAR/CAS and GovCon compliance
Experience with ERP systems (Navision/Business Central preferred) and advanced Excel skills
Strong analytical communication and leadership abilities
Prior experience in aerospace defense or government contracting environments
