Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations for sign-off by the Financial Manager
Manage Finance Clerks to ensure achievement of departmental objectives
Review accruals submitted by finance clerks
Assist with Forex transactions including instructions and FECs
Participate in stock counts and investigate stock discrepancies
Post month-end journal entries to finalize the trial balance
Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns
Investigate and resolve intercompany debtor/creditor queries
Assist in financial projects and ad hoc tasks
Handle petty cash transactions
Support external auditors during audits
Prepare and upload monthly Hyperion pack and operational reports
Act as Finance Manager in their absence

Requirements:

Tertiary qualification in Finance (e.g. BCom)
Completed articlesand postgraduate qualification(advantageous)
Solid understanding of costingand International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Strong knowledge of accounting and tax principles
Experience with Hyperion JD Edwards (JDE) and ABACA(beneficial)
Proficient in Excel models pivot tables and MS Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Able to manage deadlines under pressure including overtime and weekends when required
