Job Summary
We are looking to hire more Front-End Developers right now. If youre a talented Front-End Developer a self-starter interested in solving real-world problems we may be the perfect place for you to come and do the best work of your life. You will be joining us on the ground floor so this is a high impact opportunity.
You will be responsible for :
Developing the Product - bring cross-functional experiences and deep domain understanding:
- We are developing an Uber Yelp equivalent for the Global Container Logistics community. You will have to understand this complex industry multi-user experience flows and helps us in building tools that will enable businesses of all sizes in seamless trading across borders (it should be like logistics is magically happening for them!)
- Help build simple intuitive and highly efficient interfaces to automate the repetitive parts of logistics (you guessed it right a good sense of aesthetics is must!).
- Develop high fidelity prototypes across multiple form factors and build an effective loop to gather feedback from both the team and the current user base.
- Ensure design consistency of the product to pixel level across all the factors from desktop to mobile
Find the 80/20:
- Youre in a meeting where someone wants to build a new feature. And in their mind theyve got it all speced out. It slices it dices and probably washes your car your mind theyre racking up costs and complexity(one month for that part two months for that other part uh oh). On a bad day youd just give them the sobering news. But a good day looked like this. Once you understood what the objective of their feature was for customers you could sometimes see a way to get 80% of the benefit for 20% of the cost.
Provide options:
- Never say thats impossible or we can never do that. Instead you find options and can communicate them to everyone in the company.
Grow front end and user interaction leaders:
- Build and manage a team of front-end developers and user interaction designers
- Making the whole greater than the sum of its parts
We are applying technology and problem solving to the logistics industry like it has not been done before. The risk is absolutely encouraged.
You should have :
- 1 - 3 years of experience in developing responsive & human context oriented products across all the factors from desktop web application to mobile application
- Bachelors / Masters Degree in Computer Science
- Coursework in digital interaction design would be a definite plus
- Extensive experience in the following is a must
- Front-end web development technologies viz. Reactjs HTML5 CSS3 Jquery AJAX etc.
- OOP preferably with JavaScript
- REST framework
- Google analytics
- Search Engine Optimization
- Version control tools - Git
- Back-end integration and server-side templating
- Writing user-specific test cases
- Basic knowledge of pre-processing CSS systems viz. LESS SASS for web page optimization
- Experience integrating with 3rd party social APIs
- Experience in working with a cross-functional product development team would be a plus
