The Brick is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Fixed Assets Accountant to join our dynamic finance this role youll play a key part in managing the companys capital assets ensuring accuracy compliance and efficiency in all fixed asset processes.
Responsibilities
- Review asset additions with various departments to ensure accurate classification between capital expenditures and operating costs.
- Transfer completed projects from construction-in-progress (CIP) accounts to the fixed assets subledger.
- Reconcile CIP accounts on a regular basis.
- Process monthly depreciation and related journal entries.
- Prepare month-end reports and analyses for various departments.
- Support the preparation of the annual capital budget.
- Assist with audits and other finance-related projects as needed.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Oracle Financials is an asset
- Strong technical accounting knowledge particularly in fixed assets and capital accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and manage priorities under minimal supervision
