Varda was founded in January 2021 by Will Bruey and Delian Asparouhov with significant backing from world class investors including Khosla Ventures Lux Capital Founders Fund Caffeinated Capital General Catalyst and Also Capital.

Varda is headquartered in El Segundo California where we have offices and a production facility where our vehicles equipment and materials are built integrated and tested. Varda also has offices in Washington DC and Huntsville AL (coming soon).

About This Role

Summer internships will range between the months of May and August.All dates dependent upon the university schedule of the selected students. Internships are full-time and on-site in Los Angeles CA.

Internships at Varda are optimal for students looking to grow technically and professionally while working on impactful projects critical to the companys success. You will be working on a collaborative team in a startup environment while being able to learn from some of most accomplished and experienced aerospace professionals in the world. As a Social Media Intern youll play a key role in shaping how the world sees Varda. Youll work directly with our marketing and communications team to create engaging content build community and help us share our mission at the intersection of space science and innovation. If youre passionate about storytelling science communication and the intersection of space pharma and innovation this role is for you!

Responsibilities

• Content Creation:

• • Develop engaging and visually appealing posts videos and stories for social media platforms including LinkedIn Twitter (X) and Instagram.

• • Write clear concise and compelling copy tailored to different audiences.

• Strategy & Planning:

• • Assist in designing a cohesive social media strategy that aligns with the companys vision and goals.

• • Create and maintain a content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting.

• Audience Engagement:

• • Monitor comments messages and mentions to foster a sense of community and engagement.

• Analytics & Reporting:

• • Track key performance metrics (e.g. engagement rates follower growth) to measure the impact of campaigns.

• • Provide insights and recommendations for improving content and strategy based on data.

• Trends & Innovations:

• • Stay updated on social media trends and identify opportunities to adopt innovative approaches.

• • Explore partnerships with influencers science communicators and relevant organizations.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree inMarketing Communications Science Communication or a related field

• Strong understanding of major social platforms (LinkedIn Instagram Twitter/X)

• Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to tone and detail

• Experience with design tools like Canva Adobe Creative Suite or similar

• Basic video/photo editing skills (bonus points for Reels or short-form video creation)

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Passionate about space exploration pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.

• Creative thinker with the ability to simplify complex concepts for diverse audiences.

• Highly organized proactive and capable of meeting deadlines.
