Job Description

Te whiwhinga mahi: The opportunity

We are looking for a passionate and skilled leader to take on the role of Rangatahi Hauora Programme Lead supporting delivery of Taakiri Tu Te Rangatahi across the Waikato.

This programme is designed to support rangatahi Mori Pasifika and care-experienced youth through equitable access to health education and wellbeing opportunities.

This is a fixed term role until 30 June 2026 working 40 hours per week.

In this role you will:

  • Lead and facilitate the delivery of Taakiri Tu Te Rangatahi in schools kura and alternative education settings.
  • Build strong relationships with iwi partners schools kura health providers and community organisations.
  • Ensure safe engaging and culturally responsive activities that enhance the wellbeing of rangatahi.
  • Coordinate programme logistics including events resources evaluation and reporting.
  • Explore opportunities for sustainable funding and growth of the programme.

He krero mu: About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Three to five years experience working alongside rangatahi particularly Mori Pasifika and care-experienced youth.
  • A qualification in Health and Wellbeing (minimum Level 4 or equivalent).
  • Tertiary qualification in Health Social or Youth Development is preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience in working with rangatahi in either health youth development or education.
  • Strong facilitation or teaching skills and confidence in both classroom and outdoor settings.
  • Understanding of Te Ao Mori and Tikanga Mori (Te Reo is an advantage).
  • Knowledge of the health and education sector.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
  • Organisational skills to manage programme delivery reporting and resources.
  • Full drivers licence (ability to drive a van preferred).
