Associate Safety Consultant

About the role:

BSI is looking for a strong technical Associate Consultant to join our dynamic EHS team in Indiana. The ideal candidate will have 35 years of hands-on IH experience with the proven ability to independently perform exposure assessments plan and execute sampling strategies and analyze and report results using sound statistical methods.

This full-time Associate Consultant role is based at a high-profile research facility offering the opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced innovative environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with Facilities Engineering Manufacturing and Warehouse teams to identify and mitigate safety risks during commissioning and start-up.

• Support pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR) mechanical completion walkthroughs daily construction meetings and contractor activities.

• Provide oversight of contractor safety training audits and qualifications to ensure compliance with project safety requirements.

• Conduct risk assessments hazard evaluations and develop corrective action strategies in partnership with project teams.

• Assist with incident investigations and implement corrective/preventative actions to reduce future risk.

• Monitor compliance with health and safety regulatory standards and project-specific requirements.

• Prepare and deliver clear documentation and safety reporting to project leadership.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field (preferred not required).

• 3 years of experience in construction safety commissioning or startup environments.

• Strong understanding of health and safety regulatory standards including OSHA construction safety standards.

• Experience facilitating safety meetings risk assessments and contractor safety programs.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional project teams.

• Professional certifications such as CHST CSP ASP or equivalent are highly valued.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced start-up/commissioning environment.

The salary for this position can range from $80800 to $111100 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to the candidates competencies level of experience education location divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
