Job Description

We are on the lookout for a Toolmakers Assistant to join our clients team.

The key purpose of this role is to support the Toolmaker in mould manufacturing repair and maintenance including machining workshop duties and electrical/electronics support.

Salary & Benefits:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Tooling & Workshop Support

  • Assist in mould making repair polishing and fitting.
  • Support machining operations (drilling milling grinding).
  • Maintain workshop cleanliness and tool storage.

2. Mould Maintenance & Changeovers

  • Assist with mould fitting removal and installation.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and greasing of moulds.

3. Machine & Technical Support

  • Assist in machine setups and adjustments.
  • Support new product trials and commissioning.

4. Electrical & Electronics

  • Assist in wiring sensors and PLC testing.
  • Support in learning electrical troubleshooting under supervision.

Key Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Precision and attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and good communication.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Skilled Certificate in Toolmaking Fitting & Turning Welding or similar.
  • 1 3 years in an Engineering support role.
  • CNC machining experience would be an added benefit
  • Basic knowledge of Machining and Mechanical Repair.
