Job Summary:
This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) setting. The RN will provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients with conditions such as sepsis ARDS renal failure and post-cardiac arrest. The position requires strong clinical skills collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Providing direct patient care to critically ill patients in a SICU setting.
- Assessing patient conditions administering medications and developing treatment plans.
- Monitoring vital signs administering oxygen therapy and managing intravenous lines.
- Collaborating with physicians respiratory therapists and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records.
- Managing and responding to patient emergencies.
- Performing procedures such as CRRT EKOS IABP ECMO and Impella support.
- Maintaining a 1:2 nurse-patient ratio with occasional 1:1 based on acuity.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York.
- Minimum of two years of hospital experience (preferred but not explicitly stated).
- Proficiency in clinical assessment medication administration and treatment planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced high-pressure environment.
- Experience with various critical care procedures (CRRT EKOS IABP ECMO Impella).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (assumed).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelors degree in Nursing.
Special Considerations:
- 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (1900-0730).
- Every other weekend rotation.
- Travel distance must be over 75 miles.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- 16-bed unit.
- Patients include those with sepsis ARDS renal failure heart failure pre-VAD workups alcohol withdrawal overdose multi-organ failure post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management respiratory failure/shock.
Scheduling:
- Three 12-hour night shifts per week (1900-0730).
- Every other weekend required.
