Job Summary:
This Registered Nurse (RN) position focuses on providing skilled nursing care to patients in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units. The RN will perform patient assessments administer medications participate in treatment planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team. Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management and utilization of rapid response teams is required. Floating between similar units is expected.

Responsibilities:
- Performing patient assessments and developing care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments.
- Monitoring patient vital signs and documenting observations.
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals.
- Educating patients and families about their care.
- Interpreting and managing dysrhythmias.
- Utilizing rapid response teams.
- Managing peripheral lines and other basic medical equipment (nasal cannula oxygen masks portable oxygen tanks).
- Maintaining isolation precautions.
- Charting in Epic.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting (first-timers accepted).
- BLS certification.
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Proficiency in peripheral line care and management.
- Ability to utilize basic medical equipment (nasal cannula oxygen masks portable oxygen tanks).
- Knowledge of isolation precautions.
- Experience with Epic charting (preferred).
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Two or more years of experience in Medical/Surgical or Telemetry nursing.
- Experience in a cardiac unit.
Special Considerations:
- Weekend work is required every other weekend (EOW).
- No on-call requirements.
- Floating between Medical/Surgical and Telemetry units is required to meet facility needs.
- Block scheduling will be considered but not guaranteed.
- No local candidates within 75 miles.
- No pending licenses accepted.
- No more than one week of remote work allowed per contract.
Scheduling:
- Day and evening shifts have a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio while night shifts have a 6:1 or 7:1 ratio.
- Stretch ratios may apply (6:1 or 7:1 day/eve 9:1 or 10:1 nights).
