Your Role as Head Coach for Cross Country/Track:
Canisius University a member of the Division I Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference seeks a full-time Head Coach for Cross Country & Track. The head coach for cross country & track ensures the Canisius mens and womens cross country & track program is administered with constant commitment to compliance with all institutional conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and develop all aspects of the NCAA Division I cross country & track program.
Identify recruit and retain qualified student-athletes for the Canisius University cross country & track program.
Organize and execute team and individual skill instruction for players.
Schedule and coordinate conditioning drills and workouts in conjunction with Athletic Performance Staff.
Advise and monitor the academic development of student-athletes.
Develop training and competition strategies analyze student-athlete performance and provide instruction to maximize success within the cross country and track program.
Responsible for budget preparation and administration.
Coordinate with the Sport Supervisor the competition schedule.
Oversee team travel and recruiting travel arrangements.
Coordinate official and unofficial visits written correspondence and telephone communications.
Record all required team activities practice logs and recruiting activities within institutional systems.
Promote the cross country & track program to the public assist in community relations and fundraising activities.
Market and direct the Canisius University cross country & track camps/clinics.
Supervise assistant coaches and/or other program support staff.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
