MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning and Development
Conduct student interest assessment to better gauge recreational sports programming areas
Become familiar with legislation policies procedures and rules about sports recreation and cultural activities events and competitions.
Plan promote and facilitate regularly occurring and singly occurring recreational sports activities including such things as basketball volleyball dodgeball hiking and bowling.
Plan promote and facilitate regularly occurring and singly occurring health and wellness activities including such things as yoga Pilates Zumba swimming cycling walking and paddling.
Plan promote and facilitate Health and Wellness educational programming including such things as smoking cessation sexual violence awareness blood donation stress relief and others. Facilitation and Implementation
Facilitate 3-4 recreational and/or wellness activities per semester.
Ensure students adhere to facility policy and regulations.
Maintain and monitor recreational sports equipment inventory.
Record information and prepare reports concerning costs numbers of participants and equipment and facility use monthly.
Marketing and Awareness
Coordinate an active community relations campaign to promote recreational programs.
Evaluate and record effectiveness of advertising methods.
Ensure print and online recreation information is available to students.
Other Campus Responsibilities
Maintain a working knowledge of the opportunities offered through recreational sports and health and wellness professional organizations such as National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) YMCA and the National Wellness Institute.
Participate in Departmental events as needed.
Represent the department at various campus events.

The hourly pay for this position is $16.00.
