Job Description:
A Sr. AutoCAD Designercreates complex 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD collaborates with engineers and architects ensures drawings meet industry standards and project requirements mentors junior designers and conducts quality control.The role requires advanced AutoCAD proficiency strong problem-solving skills and excellent communication to lead design efforts on significant engineering or architectural projects and ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Drafting:Develop modify and finalize complex 2D and 3D CAD drawings and models based on project requirements and sketches.
- Collaboration:Work closely with engineers architects project managers and other team members to gather design requirements and provide technical leadership.
- Quality Assurance:Review and correct technical drawings for accuracy and completeness ensuring compliance with industry standards regulations and client specifications.
- Mentorship:Provide guidance training and mentorship to junior designers and CAD staff.
- Project Coordination:Lead drafting efforts on large-scale complex projects ensuring timely delivery of drawings and maintaining organized project documentation.
- Optimization:Optimize designs for functionality cost-efficiency and manufacturing processes.
- Documentation:Maintain accurate and up-to-date design documentation including revision logs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Software Proficiency:Advanced expertise in AutoCAD including 2D/3D modeling and layer management.
- Technical Skills:Strong blueprint reading ability deep understanding of engineering principles and experience with discipline-specific software (e.g. Revit Civil 3D SolidWorks).
- Soft Skills:Excellent problem-solving communication collaboration and organizational skills.
- Experience:A minimum of 5 years of experience in CAD design.
- Education:A Bachelors degree in Design Engineering or a related field.
