Whats the role

Fraud Prevention is responsible for protecting our customers the Westpac Group and its employees from fraud and scams. As a Senior Fraud Analyst specialising in Internal Fraud you will leverage your data analytics and stakeholder management skills to provide insight and build detections that identify risk of internal fraud or malpractice.

This role focuses on leveraging SAS programming to extract and analyse data from multiple sources supporting the detection of fraud and malpractice. You will develop expertise in internal fraud behaviours and controls lead large-scale data initiatives and manage stakeholder relationships. A key part of the role involves sharing insights and fostering innovation within a collaborative team environment.

What do I need

  • Programmingintermediate or advanced SAS Python R programming language used for data analysis is essential.
  • Business acumen an ability to interpret insights into their business implications present them accordingly and select an appropriate analytical approach.
  • Proven stakeholder management able to diplomatically resolve challenges influence senior and non-technical stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
  • Mindset experience playing games such as chess poker or board games with a competitive nature would be advantageous as these display similar thought processes to fraud detection.
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Mathematics Statistics IT Engineering etc; or equivalent work experience (5 years) in data analytics.
  • Experience working in a risk or fraud analytics environment would be highly advantageous.
