Total Safety is looking for a Field Service Technician to join their safety conscious team! The Field Service Technician provides service and repair for communications equipment which typically includes all aspects of Motorola two-way radio systems.

Essential Duties
- Install configure and maintain MOTOTRBO infrastructure: repeaters combiners duplexers controllers and dispatch consoles.
- Program and update subscriber codeplugs for portable and mobile radios with features such as Digital Emergency Lone Worker GPS and text/data messaging.
- Support DMR trunking systems: Conventional Capacity Plus Linked Capacity Plus and Capacity Max.
- Perform RF system alignment and tuning of duplexers combiners and multicouplers using spectrum analyzers service monitors and VNAs.
- Conduct coverage studies interference testing and RSSI benchmarking in refinery/plant environments.
- Troubleshoot site networking issues: IP routing VLANs gateways and IP Site Connect (IPSC).
- Respond to customer calls for system outages or subscriber failures ensuring minimal downtime in high-risk industrial operations.
- Maintain RF site infrastructure including antennas transmission lines (LMR400/LMR600/Heliax) grounding systems and power backup units.
- Complete preventive maintenance schedules with documentation for compliance and trend analysis.
- Train end-users and safety staff on radio operation emergency features and system best practices.
Skills & Experience
- Hands-on experience with Motorola MOTOTRBO infrastructure and subscribers.
- Proficiency with Motorola CPS CPS 2.0 and Radio Management (RM) for codeplug deployment and firmware upgrades.
- Experience with industrial trunked networks (Capacity Plus LCP Capacity Max) and their control/voice channel architecture.
- Strong RF background: use of service monitors power meters spectrum analyzers and VNAs.
- Familiarity with industrial communications needs: lone worker plant-wide paging interoperability patches safety alarms.
- Knowledge of IP networking as applied to MOTOTRBO systems (repeaters control servers dispatch consoles).
- Understanding of refinery safety protocols confined space rules hot-work permits and working in hazardous areas.
- Certifications/licenses preferred: FCC GROL CET Network/CCNA Amateur Radio License.
