The role
As a Senior Commercial Manager youll be at the forefront of shaping commercial strategy and driving performance across our Engineering and Systems Integration business unit. This is a pivotal leadership role where your decisions will directly impact national defence capabilities operational excellence and long-term business success.
Day-to-day youll be required to:
- Lead commercial strategy and operations for the West Midlands production site
- Drive governance and provide expert guidance across contract activities
- Negotiate with customers suppliers and partners to secure optimal outcomes
- Develop and manage pre-contractual agreements and commercial documentation
- Collaborate with leadership to support bids tenders and growth initiatives
This role is full time 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 - 3 days in the office/onsite and 1 -2 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Senior Commercial Manager:
- Demonstrating a strong track record in contract negotiation and commercial governance
- Applying legal frameworks and principles to complex commercial environments
- Influencing senior stakeholders with confidence and credibility
- Managing full contract lifecycles in multi-disciplinary settings
- Interpreting financial data and driving cash control and billing performance
Qualifications for the Senior Commercial Manager:
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience in a commercial discipline
- Experience in defence engineering or vehicle manufacturing sectors is preferred
