Artistic Director of Dance
Full-Time Exempt Reports to Sr. Director of Artistic Strategy and Programs
Do you dream in choreography lead with vision and believe dance has the power to transform lives COCA (Center of Creative Arts) one of the nations largest multidisciplinary community arts centers is searching for its next Artistic Director of Dancea dynamic leader educator and collaborator to guide the future of our dance program.

What Youll Do
As Artistic Director of Dance youll:
- Lead with vision set the overall direction for COCAs dance programming from curriculum and training to performances residencies and program fundraising.
- Inspire faculty and students hire mentor and guide an extraordinary team of dance educators rehearsal directors and teaching artists while nurturing the growth of hundreds of students across levels.
- Curate performances direct Ballet Eclectica and COCAdance select choreographers and ensure the highest standards of artistry in showcases student companies and our COCApresents season.
- Champion excellence in education oversee curriculum development master classes summer intensives and national festival participation (including Regional Dance America).
- Build community and partnerships represent COCA locally and nationally collaborate with fellow artistic leaders and deepen our ties with artists schools and organizations.
- Teach and model professionalism step into the studio to deliver high-quality instruction and demonstrate the artistry rigor and joy of dance.
What Were Looking For
- A passionate leader with deep experience in dance education and performance supported by a degree formal training or a significant professional career and a strong professional dance network they can bring to COCA to expand opportunities for students faculty and programming.
- A proven ability to develop curriculum mentor faculty and inspire students and parents.
- A strong artistic voice with the ability to balance vision with collaboration.
- Commitment to Inclusivity in teaching casting and program design.
- Excellent communication organizational administrative and leadership skillswith a sense of humor and resilience.
- Willingness to work evenings/weekends aligned with performance schedules.
