Job Description
- Analyze AWS cost and usage data to identify trends inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop and maintain cloud cost dashboards reports and KPIs to improve financial visibility.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize resource utilization and implement tagging strategies.
- Partner with finance and procurement to forecast cloud spending and align with budgets.
- Lead initiatives to improve cloud cost governance including chargeback/showback models.
- Educate internal stakeholders on FinOps best practices and drive adoption across teams.
- Evaluate third-party tools and AWS-native services to support FinOps processes.
- Stay current on AWS pricing models Reserved Instances Savings Plans and optimization techniques.
- 3 to 5 years of FinOps or cloud financial management experience with a strong focus on AWS.
- Solid understanding of AWS services and pricing constructs (e.g. EC2 S3 Lambda RDS).
- Experience with cloud cost management tools such as CloudHealth Cloudability or AWS Cost Explorer.
- Familiarity with tagging strategies allocation methodologies and cloud governance frameworks.
- Proficient in data analysis (Excel SQL or BI tools like Tableau or Power BI).
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- FinOps Foundation certification or AWS Cloud Practitioner certification is a plus.
- Experience with multi-cloud environments (e.g. Azure GCP).
- Scripting or automation skills (e.g. Python Terraform).
- Background in accounting finance or procurement.
