2025-26 High School Year Internship Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
As part of a DESE-funded 21st Century grant Everett Public Schools will hire 48 high school interns to serve as teaching assistants and enrichment support staff across EPS Extended Learning Sites. Interns will work 24 days per week from October 2025 June 2026.
The Internship Coordinator will oversee the program including intern recruitment onboarding and placement; weekly monitoring through check-ins and reflections; biweekly Friday career-focused PDs (open to interns and other EPS students); and ongoing supervision and compliance. The Coordinator serves as the primary liaison among interns supervising teachers families and external vendors.
The ideal candidate has experience managing student work-based learning opportunities and demonstrates strong organizational communication and facilitation skills.
WORKING TIMES: 6 hrs/week for 30 weeks of programming and up to 45 flexible hours for program preparation professional development coordination and compliance tasks for a total of 225 hours.
REMUNERATION:
$40/hr for hours worked.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead recruitment outreach and interview process for 68 interns
- Ensure interns complete all required HR documents prior to start
- Coordinate placements with site staff/teachers at EPS schools
- Plan and facilitate intern onboarding and orientation
- Hold rotating 1:1 check-ins (biweekly) and review weekly reflections
- Plan and implement biweekly Friday professional development workshops in collaboration with community partners (resume writing interview prep financial literacy etc.)
- Provide ongoing observation and coaching to interns and feedback to supervising staff
- Maintain attendance timesheets check-in logs PD sign-ins and other DESE compliance documentation
- Communicate regularly with interns and families using culturally responsive strategies
- Support program-wide initiatives and events as assigned by the Manager of Extended Learning
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current EPS staff member in good standing
- At least 2 years of experience supervising student internships/work-based learning experiences
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Education Youth Development or related field
- Experience in Extended Learning/Out-of-School Time programming (after school summer learning Acceleration Academies tutoring coaching etc.)
- Dual Licensure or relevant experience in Special Education and/or English as a Second Language
- Multilingual capacity
