Job Summary
Were hiring a Tester (SAP BI/Data Warehouse) on behalf of a forward-thinking financial services environment that values accurate data technical excellence and collaboration. Important information related to the contract requirement:
Role type: Contract (Independent Time and materials basis)
Start date: Immediate starters required
Duration: Circa 4 months until mid-December 2025
Location: Cape Town
Environment: Hybrid working mainly from the office (on-site) with 1 day per week WFM
- Verifying data in HANA tables Business Views data cubes and reports
- Writing SQL and HiveQL scripts for data validation and reconciliation
- Checking data structures and business logic for accuracy
- Performing source-to-target comparisons during data migrations
- Reviewing outputs from BI tools such as SAP Analysis for Office and Excel
- Logging test results and tracking issues in Jira documenting in Confluence
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve data issues
Key requirements among others:
- 5 years of experience in BI or data warehouse testing
- Strong SQL skills (joins CTEs subqueries CASE statements)
- Experience with HiveQL or Impala for large datasets
- Familiarity with SAP Analysis for Office and Excel for data validation
- Comfortable using Jira and Confluence for test tracking and documentation
- Experience with data migration testing interpreting technical specs and mapping documents
- Agile/Scrum exposure and experience in financial or insurance sectors is a plus
