Reporting to the Director of Career and Professional Development the Career Services Specialist assists students with internship/job opportunities and job search techniques conducts individual career readiness appointments with students and alumni; assists with Career and Professional Development programming and events; assists with marketing departmental resources and services.

Responsibilities:
Critiques LinkedIn profiles resumes and cover letters; performs mock interviews
Provides career advising to students prospective students and alumni in the areas of career planning resume writing job search networking interviewing skills salary evaluation career and employment issues and personal development.
Advises students on available job or internship opportunities through set drop-in advising hours and by individual appointment.
Assists in coordinating job fairs and professional development events.
Supports the mission by participating in general workshops and big events walk-in advising and weekly meetings.
Assists students alumni faculty and staff with set up usage and troubleshooting HireWarriors accounts.
Assists with scheduling and approval of appointments on the HireWarriors platform.
Minimum Qualifications:
An Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of two years of relevant experience in higher education or a related human resource recruiting or employer relations setting.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be professional in all aspects of the position including professional dress and appearance demeanor and attitude.
Consistently display the highest levels of integrity.
Ability to prioritize multi-task perform well under pressure meet deadlines and work flexible schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelors degree in human resource management higher education administration counseling or related field.
Experience working with military and adult student populations.
Experience working with Canva Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook.
Experience using social media platforms for marketing purposes.
Salary: $16/hour
Hours: Monday 8am - 12:30pm and Tuesday -Thursday 8am - 1pm.
Please note: This is NOT a remote position the selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
