The Role:

TIME is seeking an Editorial Fellow in London for a paid full-time 12-month fellowship. This is an exciting opportunity for a developing journalist eager to gain hands-on experience in digital journalism with a focus on speed accuracy and sharp editorial judgment. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer with meticulous attention to detail a nose for news and an enthusiasm for covering stories across a wide variety of sectors. This budding reporter will also play a key role in the daily production and evolution of TIMEs soon-to-be revamped daily newsletter.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the building and evolution of TIMEs daily newsletter
  • Monitor breaking and developing news stories connecting with real-time sources to identify topics that matter to readers
  • Pitch and write news articles across a range of topics including politics business and technology
  • Ensure accuracy and clarity under deadline pressure fact-checking as needed and adhering to TIMEs high editorial standards
  • Collaborate closely with editors and colleagues in London New York D.C. and around the world to maintain a fast reliable workflow

Qualifications:

  • A curious driven and detail-oriented emerging journalist with strong news judgment
  • Experienced in writing on deadline with bylines in internships freelance work or professional outlets
  • Familiar with digital publishing tools and confident adapting to new CMS platforms
  • Strong online news sourcing techniques
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where speed and accuracy are equally valued
  • A strong communicator who works well independently and as part of a global collaborative team
  • Excited about the role newsletters play in shaping modern journalism and connecting directly with audiences. Experience in the Audience/Engagement sector is a bonus

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Previous newsletter writing or production experience
  • Familiarity with AP style and editorial fact-checking best practices
  • Knowledge of TIMEs voice mission and editorial style

Location:

This is a hybrid role. Eligible candidates for the role must be within a commutable distance of TIMEs London office upon hire and may be expected to be physically present as needed.

More About the Role:

  • The salary minimum for this position is GBP 25207 (London minimum Wage)
  • This position is not represented by the News Guild of New York.
