Location: Zaandam (near Amsterdam)
Start: October 1 2025
Duration: 12 months
Hours: 40 per week
About the role
Are you an experienced PL/SQL Developer with a passion for quality and teamwork For a major European project we are looking for a technical lead with deep expertise in the Oracle this role you will work closely with colleagues in a DevOps team and directly contribute to optimizing logistics processes and sustainable customer deliveries.
You will be building impactful software that ensures orders are processed quickly efficiently and accurately making a real difference for customers. With your technical knowledge and leadership you will guide the team drive innovation and ensure the scalability of our systems.
What you will do
Work within a multidisciplinary team of PL/SQL and Java developers.
Take ownership of product development within the DevOps team.
Maintain existing code and deliver new functionality.
Support complex migrations from Oracle to service-oriented architectures.
Collaborate with external partners and internal teams on large-scale projects.
Improve system architecture to ensure scalability and efficiency.
Participate in 24/7 DevOps operations including standby shifts.
What you bring
Bachelors degree or equivalent working/learning level.
10 years of experience with PL/SQL in large databases.
Strong knowledge of SQL*Plus TOAD and/or SQL Developer.
Proficiency in Shell scripting and Linux.
Experience with Git/GitHub for version control.
Proven ability to mentor team members and act as a technical lead.
Knowledge of agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
Excellent communication skills in English both spoken and written.
Proactive team player with strong analytical problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with OutSystems.
Java/Kotlin experience.
Experience with Kafka.
Familiarity with Oracle Forms (11g).
Experience with Oracle-to-SOA migrations.
