POSITION OBJECTIVE: The job of teacher on assignment K-12 is done for the purpose(s) of assisting and supporting Special Education teachers and staff and communicating with Special Education Administration.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.) - Attend IEP meetings at assigned complexes or as needed at any site;
- Support staff in writing compliant IEPs and use of electronic IEP system;
- Support staff in area of transition; training activities IEP development post high school transition planning;
- Support staff in area of curriculum and behavior management;
- Communicate and collaborate with administrators and staff in order to ensure compliance and programming success;
- Develop and present professional development training as needed;
- Plan for and oversee extended school year program;
- Monitor and oversee Alternate assessment with staff;
- Collaborate with other Special Education TOAs;
- Participate in district and building meetings as required;
- Participate in professional development training;
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: (positions in this class typically require): - Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited institution;
- Meet professional teacher education requirements of school district and state;
- Relevant teaching experience

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS: (positions in this class typically require): Licensing Requirements: - Valid fingerprint clearance card from Arizona Department of Public Safety;
- Special Education certificate from Arizona Department of Education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require: reaching standing walking finger dexterity grasping talking hearing seeing and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time the job is rated for Light Work.
