Tool Designer – Fabrication Division (Mid-Level or Senior)

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Tool Designer to join our Fabrication Division in Auburn WA and Frederickson WA.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion creativity and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out on the production floor interacting with mechanics safety and tool makers and directly supporting the production Production Engineering we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety quality and integrity.

This position is a Production Engineering role and requires direct interfacing with the people and equipment on the production floor. A typical day could include:

• Spending up to 8 hours on feet standing/walking on the production floor
• Climbing ladders or stairs to access equipment
• Working at heights or in tight spaces
• Wearing required PPE

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Mid-Level and Senior Level Equipment and Tool Designers

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design analyze and modify aerospace manufacturing equipment and tooling to meet stakeholder requirements
• Create fully developed tool drawings to include all applicable dimensions notes and bill of materials
• Conduct all applicable design reviews with stakeholders
• Perform tool liaison activities to support tool fabrication activities and production use

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Questionnaire

• Equivalent combination of education and experience (Associates3 years related work experience OR 5 years related work experience)

Preferred qualifications:

• Level 4: 5 or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with CATIA V5 / ENOVIA
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with single- and multi-sheet tool drawing layout including incorporation of GD&T
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with tool liaison activities including tool engineering disposition for tooling non-conformances

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range for Mid-Level (Level 3): $68000 - $92000

Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level 4): $80750 - $109250
