Through the Commonwealth Preschool Partnership Initiative (CPPI) EEC is providing districts across the state the opportunity to develop partnerships between the school district and local private early education and care programs to expand access to high-quality preschool within the district with particular attention to addressing existing barriers including but not limited to cost and access to special education services.
Fitchburg Public Schools is the recipient of an awarded planning grant through EEC. Early-stage planning grants will fund districts to (1) establish/maintain partnerships with local EEC-licensed community-based organizations (CBOs) (2) develop/maintain a leadership team (3) update the needs assessment and (4) review and revise the strategic plan. Funding continuation in FY26 will focus on early implementation and preparation for full implementation in the next procurement cycle in FY27.
The Educational Leader is responsible for the following tasks:
- Oversee scheduling and evaluation of all professional development opportunities including training itinerant staff in the use of BDI;
- Train PK staff in the use of technology needed to communicate with multilingual families including Time Kettle Earbuds and translation printer software.
- Update staff on the use of Footsteps2Brilliance-dual a dual-language supplemental literacy app.
- Bonding partnering and successfully communicating with all families;
- Curriculum tools such as Fundations and Heggerty;
- Creating developmentally appropriate routines/activities for PK students;
- Promote and schedule the use of the CLASS observation tool and;
- Maintain all professional development evaluations
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university; Masters Degree preferred;
- Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education license in one of the following areas:
- Special Education Administrator and/or related experience
- Early Childhood (PreK-2) and/or Teacher of Students with Moderate
- Disabilities PreK-2 preferred.
- EEC Director I or II
- Knowledge of current education legislation/regulations;
- Ability to work effectively with teachers support staff and parents and advocate for
- children to effectively problem-solve;
- Expertise and working knowledge of Early Childhood program development and
- implementation;
- Experience with designing and coordinating grant requirements with EEC and/or DESE;
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills and the ability to work with all
- stakeholders
- Belief in the commitment to the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for student learning including the implementation of specific strategies for students with special needs 504 plans and/or Multi-lingual learners (MLL).
- Familiarity with Fitchburgs early childhood structure and oerings preferred;
- Grant Administration and Implementation
Provide input for the CPPI Assessment and Strategic Plan- December 1 2025 to June 30 2026
Total Compensation: $45 an hour; NTE$15000
