Brick Mason

Description:
The Brick Mason will construct and repair structures and surfaces using bricks concrete blocks and natural or man-made stones. This role involves building walls floors arches pavements partitions and other structures with precision and attention to detail. We are seeking an experienced candidate with a proven background in ensuring accuracy structural integrity and high-quality finishes while working with both hand and power tools. Candidates must be willing to become signatory to the Brick Masons Union if not already a member.

Typical Duties:

• Lay bricks concrete blocks stone and other materials to construct or repair walls partitions arches and similar structures
• Use trowels levels plumb bobs hammers chisels and other hand tools to construct and finish structures
• Measure cut and shape bricks or blocks to fit required dimensions
• Mix mortar or grout and spread it with a trowel
• Clean and prepare surfaces for bricklaying by removing debris and leveling surfaces
• Build scaffolding or temporary structures to provide safe working conditions
• May use power grinders or hammer and chisel to remove rough spots or repair defective areas
• Follow safety procedures which may include wearing respirators eye protection and other personal protective equipment
