-Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in accounting or 2 yrs. accounting.

-Or completion of undergraduate core coursework in business administration economics computer science or related field; 16 semester or 24 quarter hours in accounting.

-Or 12 mos. exp. as Accountant/ Examiner 2 66112 with state government exp. commensurate with duties to be assigned.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

Job Skills: Accounting and Finance

DCY is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support payment processing and fiscal compliance for child-serving providers. This role ensures accuracy in financial transactions supports IRS reporting and provides technical assistance to internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review provider payments for accuracy completeness and compliance.
  • Process adjustments reissuances and deductions (e.g. child support IRS levies).
  • Manage W-9 and 1099 documentation and respond to IRS inquiries.
  • Coordinate with Fiscal staff to resolve payment errors and recommend improvements.
  • Provide help desk support to providers and County Departments of Job and Family Services (CDJFS).
  • Analyze fiscal processes and suggest system and procedural enhancements.
  • Perform other related duties including attending meetings and maintaining records.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and understanding of financial systems.
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate across teams.

Pay Information

Unless required by legislation or union contract starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position. New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity there may be cost of living increases awarded annually. Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years. The current wage progression for this position is in the table below.

Location Requirements

DCYs core hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 8:00am to 5:00pm however daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across DCY divisions. Employees may begin as early as 7:00am & as late as 9:00am based on supervisory approval. This position performs work on-site daily at DCYs office space.
