Are you motivated to shape the financial future of a global industrial leader At ABB were looking for a Senior Group Technical Accounting & Reporting Specialist to manage M&A and divestiture accounting across our international operations.

This is more than a technical accounting role its a strategic position where your insights will guide major business decisions and ensure transparency and compliance in our global financial reporting. Youll work closely with senior stakeholders M&A teams and external auditors enhancing financial governance standards.

Your role and responsibilities

  • Be the lead specialist for technical accounting in M&A and divestitures advising global teams on complex transactions.

  • Manage the operational tasks involved in ABBs group accounting standards and reporting processes under US GAAP.

  • Own key topics such as purchase accounting consolidation (VIE/VOE) goodwill recognition and more.

  • Research and document technical accounting positions collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate group-wide accounting projects including implementation of new US GAAP standards.

  • Deliver impactful training sessions and workshops across the organization.

  • Design and maintain internal controls over financial reporting.

  • Serve as the primary contact for external auditors on M&A and divestiture matters.


Qualifications for the role

  • A university degree in Finance Accounting or Business Administration; Masters preferred.

  • (U.S.) CPA certification and at least 5 years of experience in technical accounting and financial reporting under US GAAP.

  • Experience in a multinational industrial company.

  • Fluent in English; additional languages are welcome.

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting into clear guidance.

  • A collaborative mindset and ability to work across diverse teams and geographies.
