QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND RISK MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT

SUMMARY: The Quality Improvement Assistant assists the Director of Nursing and Quality and the Quality Improvement Coordinator at Northeastern aiding clinical improvement and risk management activities. This includes tracking organizing data and chart abstraction using standardized procedures. This position does not provide any supervisory responsibilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work closely with Director of Nursing and Quality QI Coordinator PCMH Specialist and the IT System Clinical Support Specialist.
• Assist the QI Coordinator in preparation for the QI Committee Meeting. This includes QI for both clinical and non-clinical issues.
• Assist the QI Coordinator to collate new and amended policies procedures and guidelines distributing them to affected staff and supervisors keeping handbooks in each area up to date for consultation by the staff.
• Review policies procedures and guidelines yearly and in conjunction with the Clinic Coordinator and Medical Director ensure that NRHC meets the requirements for clinic licensure (Title 22).
• Assist with the collection of information required for reporting to various entities including HRSA grant requirements consortium reporting etc.
• Utilize the PDSA (plan study study act) method to analyze QI issues and make improvements.
• Use risk reporting tools for data collection data analysis and outcome evaluation as directed by the Risk Manager.
• Work reports to track and report disease management/clinical outcomes that will be used to evaluate processes and quantify results of patient care services.
• Assist QI Coordinator in developing policies and procedures as needed to ensure quality of care facilitate client services and increase efficiency.
• Develop forms used for QI Projects to assure HIPAA compliance.
• Assist with monthly Quality Improvement meetings prepare agenda and participate in quality improvement projects such as chart reviews and audits.
• Assist QI Coordinator in providing support to providers for disease management activities.
• Preform One World Accuracy quality checks for all in-house lab equipment.

• Observes the dress code; appearance and grooming are appropriate.
• Maintains strict confidentiality. Does not disclose confidential information regarding patients co-workers or the organization to unauthorized individuals in or out of the organization.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma Required
• One-year experience in a healthcare setting
• Current drivers license and insurance
• Experience with Electronic Health Record system
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Excel PowerPoint databases etc.)
