Job Description
The Staff Assistant II-Part-Time position will perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities. This position is within the Business Services Finance Section of GCFES which is responsible for EMS billing and processing invoices for payment. Will need to have daily interaction with ambulance transport and patients regarding payment of EMS services along with outside vendors. Responsible for handling a variety of clerical tasks including answering phones and emails filing preparing documents processing invoices for payment assisting patients with payments and maintaining records. Additionally the position also performs data entry and provides customer support by researching and/or providing information to the public and other departments. The role also serves as a point of contact between the Fire Department utility companies vendors and the public to ensure clear communication and efficient resolution of requests. Strong organizational skills attention to detail and excellent customer service are essential for success in this position.

Essential Duties
  • Answer phone calls and emails providing information and directing inquiries.
  • Process and pay invoices including utility bills.
  • Assist patients with credit card payments over the phone in accordance with county policies Process attorney requests as well as production of document requests accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Enter and maintain accurate utility usage data in spreadsheets and the Energy Cap program.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Fire Department and utility companies to resolve billing or service issues.
  • Provide general office support to the Business Services - Finance section as needed.

  • This job requires a public safety background check which may include motor vehicle & criminal histories and fingerprinting.

The grade for this position is97.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • One (1) year of administrative support or related office experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
  • Experience in data entry and finance while using: Microsoft Word & Excel etc.
