We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing QA Technician I to join our quality assurance team in Riverside CA. This role plays a vital part in ensuring product quality and food safety through hands-on testing inspections and documentation. The position offers the potential for long-term extension and possible conversion to a full-time role based on performance.
Shift: Monday-Friday 11:30 AM 8:00 PM (with potential overtime during vacations absences or peak season September-January)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform product sampling testing plating and recording of test results.
- Conduct microbiological chemical physical and sensory (organoleptic) testing.
- Maintain accurate records perform data entry and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
- Support internal audits and follow hold procedures for non-compliant products.
- Calibrate troubleshoot and maintain lab testing equipment.
- Conduct microbial plating component analysis and environmental swabbing.
- Inspect plant equipment and facilities for sanitation and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct sensory evaluations on milk and other food products.
- Report daily production and quality issues to supervisors.
- Monitor CCP records and ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety programs.
- Investigate and support the resolution of customer complaints.
- Maintain product specifications policies and procedures including GMP Food Safety and regulatory compliance training.
- Manage lab supply inventory.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Food Science Biology Microbiology Chemistry or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Knowledge of microbiological chemical physical and sensory testing methods.
- Understanding of HACCP GMP and sanitation best practices.
- Strong proficiency in Windows-based PC programs including Intermediate Excel skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong analytical problem-solving and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to multitask prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
