Masters degree or higher in respiratory care health science education leadership science or related field or Bachelors degree in respiratory care health science education leadership science or related field with an agreement to complete a suitable masters degree within 3 years.
Active credentials as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
Current Arkansas state license as LRCP (or ability to obtain a license).
Minimum of three years experience as an RRT with experience in critical care or neonatal/pediatrics.
Demonstrated strength in communication organizational interpersonal leadership and problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an RRT with experience in critical care.
Active NBRC Adult Critical Care Neonatal Pediatric or Asthma Education Specialist certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support NRP or PALS Instructor.
Experience teaching in an accredited respiratory care program.
Experience in advanced patient assessment diagnostics hemodynamics and disease management.
Experience in interprofessional healthcare teams.
Experience with instructional technology using an online learning management system.
Experience with instructional simulation activities.
Active involvement in professional activities at the local state or national level.
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Teach academic courses outside of specialty expertise in support of program requirements
Bedside instruction and mentoring of students in clinical practicum rotations / internships
Academic and professional advising and student mentoring
Design and facilitate clinical simulation education
Contribute to program and curriculum assessment planning and recruiting activities
Engage in scholarly activity consistent with the professional expectations for core faculty
Serve on Department and College committees and support the overall College of Health Professions and University community
Actively participate in service to the profession
This position is aDesignated Research Positionand is regulated by theArkansas Research Education Protection Act of 2025.
