Ipswich Girls Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School offers high quality non-denominational education to students from Kindy to Year 12 (co-education from Kindy to Year 6 girls only Years 7-12). THE OPPORTUNITY
Ipswich Girls Grammar School including Ipswich Junior Grammar School operates a swimming program all year providing quality learn to swim and coaching for students from Prep - Year 12. Our aspirations are to build the competitiveness of our Junior and Senior School squads advance young athletes swimming careers and encourage all students to become lifelong swimmers.
As a casual Learn to Swim Instructor you will assist the Head Coach and Junior School HPE staff in achieving these goals from teaching foundational skills in the Junior School curriculum swimming classes to supporting our competitive squads during school hours and afterschool sessions.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
As a casual learn to swim instructor you will work under the direction of the Head Coach to:
- Deliver development sessions focusing on technique skills development and teaching how to train to race
- Assist the Head Coach and Head of Sport & HPE (Junior) with Junior School curriculum PE Swimming classes during summer terms and support our current coaches with afterschool learn to swim and development squads.
Qualifications:
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety qualifications.
- AUSTSWIM Towards Competitive Strokes is desirable but not essential.
- Current first aid asthma management CPR and Anaphylaxis qualifications.
