At GMHBA were looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Risk and Compliance Officer to join our team and support the effective management of risk and compliance across our Customer function. Youll play a key role in ensuring strong governance practices supporting a proactive risk culture and helping us maintain our commitment to regulatory obligations and service excellence.
What Youll Be Doing
- Lead compliance testing incident management and control effectiveness programs
- Provide high-quality risk and compliance reporting to senior leadership
- Maintain and enhance risk registers frameworks and compliance systems
- Identify and manage operational and regulatory risks supporting root cause analysis and remediation
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve controls and risk awareness across teams
- Deliver practical risk-based guidance and be a trusted advisor to senior leaders
- Monitor legislative and policy compliance (e.g. PHI Privacy Act internal policies)
- Champion a culture of accountability safety and continuous improvement
Skills And ExperiencesWhat Were Looking For
Mandatory:
- Proven experience in an operational Risk & Compliance role
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret and apply policies procedures and regulations
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Desirable:
- Qualifications in Business Commerce Law or a related discipline
- Certificate in Governance Risk & Compliance practices
- Experience in private health insurance or a health-related business
- Familiarity with regulatory obligations including Compliance Plans and PHI rules
- Formal audit qualifications or exposure to meeting/group facilitation techniques
