Responsibilities
You will be joining a new and unique team within Peraton. We are building a product portfolio with the pace and ambiguity of a tech start-up but the customer relationships and contract portfolio of a large company. We are seeking an experienced Technology Commercialization Lead to drive the transition of emerging and mission-critical technologies into commercially viable offerings for government and commercial customers alike. This strategic role focuses on identifying assessing and packaging technologies developed internally or through federally funded programs (e.g. DARPA DoD DHS NASA) and creating structured go-to-market approaches that align with acquisition pathways contracting vehicles and government mission needs.
The successful candidate will operate at the intersection of innovation acquisition strategy and mission deliveryenabling the organization to accelerate the deployment of advanced capabilities to government end users. Specific details of the position include:
Technology Scouting & Assessment
- Establish a structured process to identify and evaluate technologies emerging from R&D internal development and external sources.
- Assess technical readiness market applicability and alignment with government mission requirements and capability gaps.
Commercialization & Productization
- Translate high-potential technologies into formal offerings suitable for government acquisition (e.g. programs of record OTA GWACs).
- Develop business cases transition plans and technical packages aligned with customer procurement strategies.
- Define delivery models pricing strategies and IP/licensing approaches in compliance with FAR/DFARS and other relevant regulations.
Go-to-Market Strategy Development
- Create GTM strategies tailored to the federal landscape identifying target agencies acquisition programs and priority missions.
- Collaborate with capture and proposal teams to position technology offerings in response to RFIs BAAs RFPs and OT solicitations.
- Leverage existing IDIQ/contract vehicles and strategic partnerships to accelerate adoption.
Stakeholder & Customer Engagement
- Engage with government program offices technical decision-makers and acquisition officials to shape requirements and influence technology adoption.
- Act as a liaison between internal R&D engineering and BD teams to ensure alignment with customer objectives.
Market & Policy Intelligence
- Monitor federal technology priorities (e.g. DoD modernization areas Executive Orders NDAA guidance) and emerging funding streams.
- Track competitor offerings and evolving government acquisition strategies to inform positioning.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Mathematics or related field; Masters degree or MBA preferred.
- 18 years of experience in government technology commercialization technology leadership and/or change management within a federal contracting environment.
- Proven experience transitioning technologies into programs of record or operational environments within DoD DHS or civilian agencies.
- Deep understanding of government acquisition processes (FAR/DFARS OTA SBIR/STTR CRADAs).
- Familiarity with TRL/MRL frameworks contracting vehicles (e.g. GSA SEWP OASIS) and program lifecycles.
- U.S. Citizenship required; active clearance preferred or the ability to obtain one.

- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to develop and present compelling business cases.
- Ability to influence and drive change across technical and business functions.

Working Conditions
On-site position: Peraton offices within the DC-Baltimore metro area expected four days a week (Annapolis Junction MD Silver Spring MD and/or Reston VA preferred) occasional remote work is acceptable; travel (20%) expected to meet customer and/or Peraton teams.

Target Salary Range
$176000 - $282000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
