Role Overview:
Function as a member of the New Journeys team. Family Education Clinicians are recovery-oriented and they help families identify and develop recovery goals learn about psychosis and skills for managing it develop coping skills for stressful situations and persistent symptoms and address challenges related to achieving their recovery goals. This position is responsible for identifying and addressing the program participants case management needs. This position carries out the activities and processes outlined in the NAVIGATE manual for this position and provides cognitive behavioral therapy or other treatments as needed by the families and individual program participants. Clinical services will be provided to families and participants in and out of the office setting by utilizing communication and available resources to promote quality cost-effective outcomes. This role also provides case management duties as determined by exploration or identification through team meetings collaboration or supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engaging clients and their supports in a professional manner with a trauma informed approach.
- Establish and maintain contact with clients in helping them actively participate or transition to more appropriate services depending on their level of involvement and progress within New Journeys.
- Providing and maintaining boundaries to help clients and their support in working toward recovery.
- Provide all services with respect for cultural diversity and in the least intrusive way possible.
- Attend and participate in treatment planning for all New Journeys clients.
- With manager and clinical supervisor establish ongoing professional development goals; acquire new skills and knowledge through training and other means.
- Attend agency and program training to meet required annual standards for WAC and professional affiliations including required in-service training and meetings.
- Manage the paperwork of assigned caseload as determined by agency policy.
- Document all client contacts and provision for services in a timely manner.
- Keep client records in compliance with WAC Medicaid Medicare and the New Journeys contract.
- Ability to provide transportation and help navigate clients with various systems confidently.
What Were Looking For:
- Masters degree in behavioral sciences.
- Licensed mental health practitioner State of Washington desired
- Obtain Agency Affiliated Counselor registration within the first week of hire.
- Pass required background checks.
- Current drivers license.
- Current automotive insurance.
- Ability to transport clients.
- Ability to work independently.
