Job Summary

Primary Purpose

To perform a variety of task and provide support to the Director of Human Resources in order to maintain orderly office procedures confidential data and efficient daily operation of the office.

***This position is only open to Student Workers***
*3 to 20 hours per week*

Description of Essential Functions

Office and Administrative Support (50% of time)

  1. Greet office visitors answer questions and answer phones in absence of other office staff and direct visitors and/or callers appropriately.
  2. Process office mail.
  3. Perform general maintenance of office equipment in include refilling paper clearing paper jams and calling for service work.
  4. Prepare lists reports and statistics as directed.

Records and File Management (50% of time)

  1. File official personnel documents.
  2. Make personnel and confidential files for all new hires.
  3. Make changes to files as appropriate in accordance with personnel changes.
  4. Serve as file clerk for archiving purposes utilizing automated scanning system to maintain historical personnel files.

Performs Other Duties and Special Projects as Required/Assigned

  1. Maintain confidential information associated with all aspects of human resources office.
  2. Follow safety procedures and maintain work area in a clean and orderly way.

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Must be current degree-seeking student enrolled in at least 6 credits.
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0.

Must be eligible to receiveFWS based on financial need and eligibility requirements determined by FAFSA.

Students in this job will need the following skills. You should be able to do these or show that you can learn how (with or without reasonable accommodation):

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn colleges processes procedures policies and practices.
  • Excellent listening oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to receive and process information in a professional sensitive confidential and timely manner.
  • Level of computer literacy sufficient to use software such as work processing spreadsheets and databases to produce correspondence and documents.
